Tyler began his entertainment career in 2007, fresh off the heels of graduating from Michigan State University at the prestigious CESD talent agency in LA. There, he furthered his education in acting and working with actors, laying the foundation for what would become a nearly two decade-long (and counting) career built on championing talent and matching productions with exceptional performances.

When the legendary agent (and Tyler’s boss), Pat Brady, gently broke it to him that in order to become an agent, someone would either “have to leave or die,” she set him on a different path, introducing him to one of the profession’s greats, Jason Henkel.

Tyler joined The Walt Disney Company in 2010, spending five years in the Disneytoon Studios casting department working on the Tinker Bell and Planes franchises. It was there that Tyler learned every facet of the casting process, from the creative, to the financial, to walking talent down the red carpet. His work was featured in theaters, on the Disney Channel and in the then-booming home entertainment industry. Since then, he has held casting and talent handling roles across Netflix, Disney (again), DreamWorks TV and Marvel Animation.

Prior to starting his own company, Tyler rose to the rank of casting executive at Netflix, where he built and led the Casting department for Adult Animation. There, he instilled essential casting pipelines, ensured talent safety through pandemic recording sessions and helped the studio successfully launch its inaugural slate of original titles, notably Inside Job, Blue Eye Samurai and Carol and the End of the World. He also cast several projects while with the company, including Inside Job, Cat Burglar and all in-house proof of concepts in development. Tyler’s experience also includes directing celebrity auditions for William Morris Endeavor and supporting the LA-based nonprofit, Young Storytellers.

In 2024, Tyler founded Hypecasting, bringing nearly two decades of industry experience to his own creative practice. Shaped by years inside the studio system, Hypecasting pairs an instinct for talent with an unmatched understanding of the creative process. With Hypecasting, Tyler brings a thoughtful, hands-on approach to every project. He works closely with creators and production teams to understand their vision, ask the questions that matter and help actors find the character, not simply the voice. Tyler believes great casting begins with knowing your characters. An advocate for talent and a champion of collaboration, he works closely with creative teams to uncover distinctive performances that elevate the material.

For Hypecasting, it’s not just about finding the right “voice” - it’s about discovering the performance that makes a character resonate.
